Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Buyer with 2–5 years of experience in the propane or gas industry. Reporting to the Procurement Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, and driving sourcing strategies to support our expanding operations in the U.S. and Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing inventory levels to avoid shortages and overstock.
  • Ordering parts for major account’s stocking programs.
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for critical product lines.
  • Identify and evaluate new products to offer and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and inventory management teams to ensure product availability and alignment with customer needs.
  • Monitor order deliveries on time/in full and address quality or delivery issues proactively. Inform the clients for potential delay on their orders.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality and supplier reliability.
  • Travel occasionally within the United States and Canada to support cross-border initiatives and visit the TerraVest businesses.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in the propane, gas, or related industry.
  • Strong people and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in Epicor (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

Work Environment:

  • Based in our Horn Lake, Mississippi office.
  • Hybrid work schedule: Remote work possible a few days per week.
  • Occasional travel within the U.S. and Canada required.
