 Position Summary:

The CDL Driver - Dump Truck with Trailer is responsible for safely operating a dump truck with an attached trailer to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from construction sites. This role involves ensuring loads are secure, maintaining equipment, and adhering to all safety and transportation regulations. The driver will also assist in operating a Water Truck as needed. Must have knowledge of heavy equipment operation. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a dump truck with an attached trailer to transport materials such as aggregate, asphalt, soil, or heavy equipment.
  • Operate water truck as needed. 
  • Load, secure, and unload materials safely, following all company and industry protocols.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicles daily, including checks on brakes, tires, lights, and fluids. Report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Comply with all state, local, and federal transportation regulations, including hours-of-service and weight restrictions.
  • Ensure the trailer is hitched and secured properly, and confirm the load meets safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Assist in tarping and untarping loads as needed to protect materials during transit.
  • Record all materials delivered and work performed, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.

Qualifications: 

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Tanker Endorsement Required.
  • Must have knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
  • Proven experience in driving dump trucks and trailers in construction, roadwork, or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations for operating heavy vehicles and trailers.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as securing loads and routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering materials on time.
