Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and visionary Leader to oversee our Vacuum Deposition Coatings Department. This role will manage all aspects of the department, including personnel, production processes, and project execution, while ensuring alignment with Surface Optics’ commitment to quality and innovation. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in thin-film coating technologies, strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to enhance our capabilities and deliver results for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff in the development and application of vacuum deposition coatings.
• Oversee the design, production, and quality control of thin-film coatings, including dielectric, metallic, and custom multilayer designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines, client specifications, and industry standards (e.g., MIL-SPEC, ISO).
• Drive process improvements in vacuum coating technologies, such as thermal evaporation and e-beam, to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Manage department budgets, resource allocation, and equipment maintenance for coating facilities.
• Develop and implement strategies to expand coating capabilities and support business growth.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all operations.
