About the Job

Provide technical and product solutions for graphics systems, driving project success and supporting business goals. Work under the direction of the Manager of Graphics System Engineering to optimize system performance and address technical challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Proactively maintain, optimize, and upgrade broadcast graphics systems to guarantee peak efficiency, reliability, and consistent day-to-day performance
  • Assist in the testing and implementation of new software releases
  • Collaborate with fellow Graphics System Engineers to execute business and technical projects, ensuring alignment with requirements and seamless implementation
  • Assist with maintaining system documentation and knowledge transfer through training
  • Evaluate through internal customer interactions, current and future business and systems requirements - recommending solutions as appropriate
  • Work closely with editorial and production teams at all stages to ensure requirements are defined, prioritized, communicated, and delivered
  • Integrate real-time data into multiple graphics systems
  • Manage and advance our Viz Graphics systems (Viz Artist/Engine, Graphics Hub, Viz One, etc.), ensuring optimal performance and driving continuous improvement
  • Manage the process from creative designs to development of Viz graphic products and templates, ensuring alignment with creative vision and editorial standards
  • Support the operational maintenance and troubleshooting of virtual production systems, such as Unreal Engine, Zero Density, Pixotope, and Mo-Sys. This includes assisting with software updates, hardware maintenance, system configuration, and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime
  • Provide technical assistance for the maintenance and support of the TruVu Max graphics environment, ensuring system stability and optimal performance

Education, Experience, Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, broadcast, or related fields
  • 2 years of technical or product development experience with using and/or maintaining high-end graphics systems for television (Vizrt, Zero Density, Pixotope, Unreal, TruVu Max, etc)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience with real-time graphics systems (VizRT, TruVu Max, Unreal Engine)
  • Skilled in the creation of broadcast graphics and templates for live production environments
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize scripting languages such as Viz Scripting, HTML 5, Javascript, Node Based Coding
  • Understanding of basic networking and database principles
  • Experience in managing simultaneous multiple projects of competing demands, and collaborating in a team to complete work
  • Ability to be on-call during non-traditional work hours to address critical issues
  • Ability to maintain flexible hours during severe weather events
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and methodologies
