Job Description

Pay Range: $43 - $48 /hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized, evidence-based nursing care for premature and critically ill newborns
  • Perform detailed neonatal assessments and implement appropriate interventions
  • Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, feeding tolerance, and developmental milestones
  • Manage ventilators, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and other specialty NICU equipment
  • Administer medications and treatments according to neonatal protocols
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and timely
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary NICU team
  • Educate and support parents and families on newborn care, bonding, and discharge planning
  • Participate in neonatal resuscitation, emergency response, and stabilization
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control, and NICU best practices

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Key Skills; Strong neonatal assessment skills, including early recognition of changes in condition
  • Proficiency in managing premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill newborns
  • Expertise in ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and neonatal resuscitation
  • Ability to interpret vital signs, lab results, and continuous monitoring data
  • Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and neonatal dosing
  • Excellent communication skills for family-centered care
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress or emergency situations
  • Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and clinical decision-making
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
  • BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Active RN License (Single-State or Compact)
  • Minimum 1 year of NICU or relevant critical-care experience
  • Ability to work night shift (for this specific role)
  • Ability to deliver individualized care in a fast-paced acute care environment
  • Commitment to client care standards, safety policies, and code of conduct
