Job Description

We are partnering with a groundbreaking company in the golf manufacturing industry seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join their dynamic team. This is a rare opportunity to drive the design of an innovative golf club from concept to mass production, while also establishing the manufacturing processes that will make it a reality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of a revolutionary golf club, taking it from initial concept through full product lifecycle to mass production.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensure efficient, scalable production.
• Establish manufacturing processes from the ground up, particularly for metal components.
• Collaborate with software and electronics teams to integrate mechanical systems with electronics.
• Develop innovative hardware with moving components, providing solutions to unprecedented design challenges.
• Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings to communicate design intent.
• Apply mechanical control system knowledge to achieve desired product functionality.

Qualifications:

• Proven track record of bringing complex mechanical products to market.
• Mastery of DFM and DFA principles.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for metal components.
• Experience integrating electronics with mechanical systems.
• Expert-level CAD proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Advanced degree preferred but not required if compensated by exceptional experience).
• Willingness to work in-person in Irvine, CA.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Exceptional communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience limited to traditional golf equipment manufacturing is less relevant.
• Preference for practical implementation over theory.
