Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Multidisciplinary Group Project

Location: Norfolk, Virginia (required full-time residence for the duration of the project ~1 year)

Reports to: Group CEO 

Employment Type: Full-time, on-site in Norfolk, VA

Position Purpose

The Senior Project Manager will lead and coordinate a strategic, multidisciplinary project that integrates several companies within Grupo Gonza. This role is responsible for aligning engineering, production, logistics, operations, and installation teams while serving as the primary liaison with the general contractor and the end client. The PM will ensure delivery within scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead the full project lifecycle—from engineering and fabrication to logistics, delivery, and on-site installation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules, budgets, risk analyses, RFI logs, and change order documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. construction standards and structural steel specifications.
  • Control financial performance and monitor deviations.

Multidisciplinary Coordination

  • Align the participation of various Grupo Gonza companies involved and their departments.
  • Oversee deliverables from engineering, production, logistics, and quality.
  • Coordinate and supervise installation crews, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

Client & GC Relations

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the General Contractor and the end client.
  • Lead coordination meetings, technical reviews, progress discussions, and issue resolution.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on project status.

Process & Documentation

  • Implement standardized project management processes across the group for the project.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and organized project documentation.
  • Deliver weekly and monthly executive reports to the Group Management team.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven Project Management experience in U.S. construction projects.
  • Mandatory experience in structural steel projects.
  • Direct experience coordinating with general contractors.
  • Documented portfolio of completed projects.

Technical Skills

  • Strong command of scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, Monday.com).
  • Deep understanding of U.S. construction standards and structural steel requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Calendar, Gmail).
  • Strong analytical abilities and executive reporting skills.
  • English Professional Proficiency (C1/C2).

Soft Skills

  • Strong ability to work under pressure and manage complex environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and internal teams.
  • Analytical mindset with process orientation.
  • Leadership to guide engineering, production, logistics, and installation teams.
  • High accountability and ownership.

Legal & Logistical Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or valid U.S. visa (mandatory).
  • Full availability to reside in Norfolk, Virginia for approximately one year.
  • Availability to travel within the U.S. and Mexico when required.
