Job Description

Our client, an Entertainment and streaming brand, seeking a User Experience Research Operations (UX Research Ops) Specialist to join our User Experience and Research Team. This role will help deliver research that inspires and informs new customer experiences. We’re looking for someone who is pragmatic, service- and delivery-oriented, organized, curious, and collaborative. The ideal candidate understands researchers and has experience using operations skills to make research teams and their outputs more efficient, scalable, impactful, and ethical. At a staff level, this role involves executing research operations tasks with guidance to support the UX Research team’s program and strategy. The role includes collaborating with researchers to support research goals and organizing the planning and execution of UX research projects. The core objectives are to recruit high-quality and reliable research participants, create thoughtful and effective communication, and develop the operational infrastructure to support a growing research team.

  • Remote, PST Hours (some flex)
  • Rate: $45-60 per hour depending on level of experience

Responsibilities:

  • Assist researchers in sourcing, screening, and scheduling participants for research studies to test new features and products, ensuring high sampling and participant quality.
  • Advise researchers on crafting research studies by understanding research goals, constraints, and considerations to find the best possible research participants.
  • Create targeted, effective written communication for large-scale survey distribution and recruiting efforts, ensuring compliance with company policies and coordination with partner teams.
  • Experiment with new research tools, platforms, and techniques to improve workflow and efficiency. Propose new ideas and tools to enhance team performance.
  • Support the UX Research Director with managing the pipeline of inbound research requests, prioritizing projects, and quickly adjusting to real-time changes.
  • Coordinate logistics for participant research studies, including scheduling, technology support, incentive distribution, and coordination with product and partner teams.
  • Document and share lessons learned, maintaining team resources such as research repositories, best practices, playbooks, and commonly used resources.
  • Track the effectiveness of screeners and surveys, collecting metrics to improve recruiting tactics.
  • Organize and track team reports, provide feedback on research documents, and evaluate research findings holistically.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in an Operations or related environment with significant accomplishments, including at least one successful process implementation (UX Research Ops experience is a plus).
  • Strong planning, tracking, and organizational skills with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to quickly build rapport with a wide variety of people through speaking and writing.
  • Strong collaborative abilities—communicates early and often, manages shifting priorities and timelines, and handles change effectively.
  • Experience coordinating multiple fast-moving projects across teams and time zones.
  • Self-driven with expert time management skills—able to manage multiple requests simultaneously while maintaining focus on high-priority items.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a research setting supporting data collection or customer-facing work (e.g., entertainment, medical, marketing).
  • Familiarity with UX product development processes and research methods; comfortable working with researchers and designers.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills—able to identify overlooked issues, make decisions with imperfect information, and determine the best path forward.
  • Interest in technology products and trends, including experience with UX research software (e.g., Survey Monkey, dscout, Panelfox, MUIQ) and project management tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, Asana).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Research, Operations, Medical Research Operations, Design Operations, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Marketing, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
