Shift: Days/Nights

Salary Range: $111,134 – $144,474 annually

Sign-On Bonus: $30,000

Relocation & Retention Bonus: Up to $15,000

Job Summary:

The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing nursing care delivery in the Family Medicine Clinic, ensuring high-quality, culturally sensitive care across all age groups—from newborns to the elderly. This role includes clinical leadership, care coordination, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate patient care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation)
  • Provide clinical leadership and act as a resource for nursing staff
  • Supervise RNs, LPNs, CMAs, PCTs, and unit secretaries
  • Review resumes and assist in staffing, including agency/travel nurses
  • Collaborate with other charge nurses to improve clinic operations and patient flow
  • Maintain compliance with nursing standards and regulatory guidelines

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an NLN-accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of charge nurse experience in a clinic or urgent care setting
  • Certifications: BLS (required); COVID-19 vaccination proof required
  • Licensure: Active and unencumbered RN license in Alaska

  • Ability to manage care across the continuum
  • Proficient in medical terminology and nursing documentation
  • Able to adapt to diverse patient populations and work independently
